Wood Species
British Columbia is world renowned for its slow growth high elevation stands of timber which yield premium house logs. Our building logs are hand picked for straightness of grain, minimal taper, tightness of growth rings and soundness. Logs are winter cut, hand peeled and racked to air dry. Our species of preference is Douglas Fir, however, Spruce, Lodgepole Pine, White Pine and Western Red Cedar are also available. If required, standing dead timber may be obtained by special request. Average mid diameter is generally 13 to 15 inches with oversize timber also available upon request.
