FAQ
Q. How much does a log home cost?
A. Due to the uniqueness of log structures, there are no magic numbers we can use. Our buildings are priced according to a complex pricing structure based on many variables. However, our scribe fit log buildings range between $30.00 - $50.00 USD per square foot, F.O.B. Mara, British Columbia. The old adage "You get what you pay for" holds true in our pricing. We have an extensive background in finishing log homes and ship our buildings out as refined as possible. This equates to lower finishing costs to you, freeing up your general contractor's time, while expediting your project. Log shell costs are generally approximately one-third of complete turnkey prices. The variables are based on your tastes. Most log homes are finished with high end materials such as hardwood, tiles and rock work.
Q. How do you deal with settling?
A. Settling is not a mystery. It's a fact. Our homes are scientifically designed to settle and pose few problems and absolutely no hang-ups. Virtually trouble free.
Q.Do you live in a log home?
A.Yes we do. We built our first home in 1982 in Prince George, B.C. We completely fell in love with the warm and serene atmosphere while living in log. We will always live in a log home and now live in a home we built as a family in 1998.
Q. How long will it take to build our new home?
A. Again, the time frame will be based on the unique style and size of your log building. For example, typically a 2,000 - 3,000 square foot home would take us 6 - 8 weeks to prepare the log shell in your designated construction time slot. The nice thing about prefabrication is that your site infrastructure and foundation can occur while your log work is happening. Of course, a large home or commercial structure might take several months to prefabricate. We strive diligently to accommodate our customer's needs. Give us a call!
